Our client, an established gold producer, is progressing the restart of a high-grade open pit operation and, following recent drilling, updated resources and approvals work, is now seeking an experienced Senior Resource Geologist to take ownership of the resource model and support ongoing mine restart studies.
The opportunity Work directly on a near-term gold restart (pit and satellites) Be the technical lead for resource modelling and reporting Join a small, hands-on team where decisions are made quickly Exposure to study work, optimisation and mine design inputs Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Geology/Geoscience 7+ years' gold experience, ideally WA open pit / near-mine Strong resource modelling skills (Surpac/Datamine/Leapfrog or similar) Sound understanding of JORC **** requirements Comfortable working in a lean team and getting on site when needed Position Duties: Maintain and update resource models for the area and associated satellite deposits Manage and interpret drilling, sampling and grade control datasets Provide wireframes, domaining and estimation inputs for scoping/feasibility work Contribute to JORC-compliant reporting and documentation Liaise with mining, approvals and processing teams to support the restart plan Identify upside through extensional and near-mine drilling.
Ensure consistent geological data flow between exploration, grade control, and mining departments.
Weekly and monthly reporting, support any presentational requirements when needed.
