Position Brief - Senior Asset Standards Engineer
About The Role
As a Senior Asset Standards Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the City of Gold Coast’s water and sewerage infrastructure. Working with a high level of autonomy, you will lead the management and continual improvement of technical standards, specifications, and product acceptance frameworks that support safe, reliable, and sustainable water and sewerage services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and proactive engineer who enjoys driving best practice and contributing to strategic industry-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and improve Water and Sewerage technical standards, specifications, and product requirements.
* Provide expert guidance and interpretation of SEQ Code requirements to internal engineering and project teams.
* Lead product acceptance processes and act as the primary contact for suppliers.
* Represent the City at SEQ Code and WSAA forums, contributing to updates and industry direction.
* Support internal governance groups such as TSIPAM through coordination and technical input.

We’re Looking For People Who Have
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent and relevant experience.
* Strong technical expertise in water and sewerage infrastructure and standards.
* The confidence and leadership skills to guide teams and influence decision-making.
* Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical requirements into clear guidance.
* A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation and with industry partners.
* Professionalism and credibility to represent the City in regional and national forums.
* Sharp problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically and proactively.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
