MEDLOG NSW are seeking our next people leader looking for the next step in their MEDLOG career to lead our people and operations.
Are you a driven and committed individual who can effectively manage and ensure the day-to-day operations of the Transport Operations division?
With the support of your Transport Supervisor, you'll ensure that the division runs efficiently, while upholding safety standards, along with the MEDLOG policies and values.
This role requires strong people leadership, energetic, engaging, and seasoned logistics professional who is ready to take charge and lead the transport operations for NSW.
Duties:
* Oversee operational requirements are met, including wharf collections, preplanning via scheduling, customer pickup / deliveries to met all customer service levels and mitigate container storage and demurrage.
* Ensure communication standards are met within the responsibility of the container transport team.
* Oversee the effective resource planning of MEDLOG drivers on available equipment to maximize utilisation of the fleet.
* Work with your team to pan and schedule appropriate sub-contractor volume to ensure business service levels while minimizing costs where possible.
* Liaise and work along side the MEDLOG ECP to manage efficiencies and opportunities to service empty bulk runs and dehires adequately to mitigate container demurrage.
* Manage transport administration staff in their daily duties, including regular meetings to assess performance and workload.
* Leading your transport team
* Develop transport administration staff training and development plans aligned with role contingency structures from business risk mitigation.
* Work with Senior Management to promote and provide a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale within employees.
* Work alongside your Safety team to conduct toolbox meetings with the drivers, to both inform and educate on expectations and requirements.
About you:
* Minimum 5 years experience
* STRONG people experience including leadership and development
* MUST be an excellent communicator, with ability to engage at all levels of the business.
* Container Chain & other transport systems experience.
* Excellent time management skills, whilst also being able to multitask at a high standard.
* Strong understanding of Road Transport, Chain of Responsibility, Fatigue Management and Dangerous Goods Regulations.
* Experience in managing and leading people. While also being able to promote a strong, positive culture within a team environment.
* Ability to work both autonomously as well as with other members of the company to achieve targets and KPI's.
* Ability to problem solve while working in a fast pace, changing environment.
