We specialise in Colobond Roofing products and rainwater goods, offering custom and heavy-gauge fabrication of galvanised and aluminium sheet metal for long-length colourbond roof flashings, rainheads and sumps.The RoleThis role provides engineering leadership across roll-forming and sheet-metal production.
You will plan, commission and improve production lines while working closely with operations, maintenance, suppliers and design teams.
It is a hands-on, factory-based role suited to someone who enjoys solving real production problems and driving efficiency on the floor.Key ResponsibilitiesRoll-Forming Line Setup & CommissioningPlan, design, install and commission roll-forming equipment for metal roofing products.Ensure new lines meet capacity, quality and performance targets.Work with equipment suppliers and internal teams during implementation.Process Optimisation & TroubleshootingProvide engineering support on the production floor.Launch new products and resolve manufacturing issues.Identify bottlenecks, reduce changeover times and improve process stability.Tooling & EquipmentSpecify, procure and manage roll-forming tooling.Investigate tooling defects, wear and downtime issues.Liaise with equipment and material suppliers to drive cost reductions and efficiency improvements.Apply Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principles and monitor KPIs to support data-driven decision-making.Quality, Safety & ComplianceSupport quality assurance and preventive maintenance systems.Ensure compliance with Australian standards and WHS requirements.Promote a strong safety culture.Documentation & SystemsDevelop BOMs, routings and SOPs.Review drawings using SolidWorks / AutoCAD.Maintain accurate ERP data for materials and costings.Train and support production and maintenance teams and work closely with procurement and quality teams across sites.About YouDegree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in roll-forming, sheet-metal or metal roofing manufacturing.Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD).
