Town Planner

Salary: $95,999 - 123,593 p.a. + Super
Work Type: Permanent Full Time
Location: Oran Park Administration Building - 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park 2570
Grade: 15 to 17 based on qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills

Essential:

* Tertiary qualifications in town planning or a closely related field (consideration may be given to candidates nearing completion of their tertiary qualifications who have extensive experience in development assessment)
* A demonstrated working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, including experience in the assessment, processing and reporting of development proposals
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Highly developed time management skills and the ability to manage high workloads
* Negotiation and dispute resolution skills and a demonstrated ability to make decisions
* Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of internal and external customers.
* Ability to represent Council in legal cases


Desirable:

* Experience in urban release area / growth area development assessment
* Experience in presentations to internal and external stakeholders (for example, regional and local planning panels)
