About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Unreal or Unity Developer to design and deliver immersive Virtual Reality (VR) training scenarios. These simulations will enhance decision-making, situational awareness, and safety for frontline personnel. You will work closely with a digital learning team and operational experts to build realistic, high-fidelity training environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop immersive VR training scenarios using Unreal Engine or Unity.
* Build high-fidelity 3D environments replicating real-world emergency response settings.
* Integrate assets, animations, and technical data to create realistic simulations.
* Collaborate with trainers and subject matter experts to ensure operational accuracy.
* Support iterative development cycles including prototyping, testing, and optimisation.
Skills and experience
* 3+ years' experience with Unity or Unreal Engine in VR/AR/MR, gaming, or simulation.
* Proficiency in C++ (Unreal) or C# (Unity) and Blueprint scripting.
* Experience creating immersive 3D environments and optimising performance.
* Knowledge of VR hardware and platforms (e.g., Oculus, HTC Vive, Varjo).
* Strong collaboration and communication skills with ability to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
* Experience in emergency response, defence, or high-stakes training environments.
* Exposure to multiplayer or networked simulation environments.
* Knowledge of AI-driven NPC behaviours for training.
* Experience with government or public safety organisations.
* Familiarity with 3D modelling software (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max).

* Support rapid prototyping and iterative testing cycles.
* Collaborate closely with digital learning and operational teams.
