Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate planning and environmental assessment activities, including the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and approvals.
* Manage environmental risks, compliance with regulations, and implementation of CSMPs etc.
* Engage with government agencies, regulators, and community stakeholders.
* Provide strategic input to design and delivery to mitigate environmental impacts.
* Support compliance through site inspections, document reviews, and corrective actions.
* Facilitate post-approval activities and ensure environmental obligations are met.
* Prepare internal approvals, reports, and submissions to senior leadership and NSW Cabinet.
* Manage budgets, invoices, claims, and variations for planning and environmental activities.
* Lead negotiations to resolve commercial issues and secure project outcomes.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in environmental science, planning, engineering, or similar.
* Minimum 8 years' experience in major infrastructure projects (ideally $100m+).
* Client side experience within NSW Government preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of NSW environmental planning approvals and EPBC Act.
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Experience in managing project approvals including post-approvals and BDAR waivers.
