TheOpportunity

We arelooking for Town Maintenance Officers to join our Operations Teamto provide daily reserves, roads and drainage, reticulation systemsand other works in the Kununurra town site and surrounds.This maintenance of parks and role is responsible for:

* Undertaking dutiesrelating to maintenance and construction projects that enhanceor modify the parks, sporting facilities, public open spaces,reserves, cemetery's, streets and Shireablutions;
* Takingpart on roadside preparation and maintenance including treeplanting, removing litter, trimming, whipper snipping, tree andbranch removal, clean up after storms etc
* Gardening dutiesincluding mowing, fertilising, planting, pruning, edging,reticulation maintenance and weed control;
* Operating fleetincluding truck/trailer, and plant equipment to carry outmaintenance requirements;
* Operating plant andequipment and ensuring that all equipment is well maintainedand faults are reported immediately to ensure best use and safeequipment;
* Maintaining plant andequipment log books and completing end of day checks soequipment is work-ready for the next day;
* Ensuringthat tools, machinery, equipment and workshop is maintained toa high standard;
* Attending andparticipating in team meetings, tool box meetings, inductionsand other required training;
* Following organisationalspecific procedures and processes at all times;
* Activelycontribute to team planning and be committed to strong workproductivity and high-quality outputs;
* Utilising initiative tosolve routine problems and determine ways to improve efficiencyand performance.

A CertificateIII in Civil Construction/horticulture, current Blue/WhiteConstruction Safety Card and unrestricted WA 'HR' ClassDriver's Licence are essential for this role, as isdemonstrated experience in the safe operation and user maintenanceof equipment and experience and ability to work outdoors in EastKimberley conditions. You will also have good customerservice skills, good time management skills and strongcommunication skills.

This pool willbe open for a period of 12 months, permanent, fixed term, full timeand part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise;however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

We areoffering a full remuneration package inclusive of allowances andSuperannuation between $84,000 to $89,000(dependent on skills and experience) per annum.
