Your New Role
Reporting to the CEO and leading a team of five, you will oversee all business support functions including finance, governance, customer service, administration and HR coordination.
You will play a key role in strengthening systems, ensuring high‑quality financial reporting, and fostering a motivated and connected team culture.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading a high‑performing finance and admin team with clarity, empathy and accountability
Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, EOM/EOY reporting and management accounting
Coordinating complex multi‑stakeholder financial reporting across four councils
Managing AP/AR, payroll and financial compliance
Supporting digital transformation, including rollout of new finance and payroll systems
Maintaining governance frameworks, policies and procedures
Overseeing customer service, office operations and data systems
Providing commercial insights to support cost optimisation and revenue opportunities
Developing positive internal relationships across operations, HR/WHS, risk and senior leadership
What You'll Need to Succeed
You are an approachable and grounded leader who supports their team while upholding high standards and strong process discipline.
You will bring:
Leadership experience managing finance/admin teams (ideally 5+ staff)
Strong technical finance capability with strong budgeting and end‑to‑end reporting experience
High attention to detail and confidence navigating complex charts of accounts
Ability to prepare nuanced reports for multiple stakeholders
Strong systems' aptitude; previous involvement in system implementations advantageous
Commercial acumen with the ability to identify efficiency and cost‑saving opportunities
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to guide and motivate a close‑knit team
CPA/CA/IPA membership or eligibility and relevant industry experience
Desirable:
Experience in local government or a council‑controlled entity
Background in logistics or not‑for‑profit environments
