The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Purpose of the Role:
The laboratory assistant works with senior staff and leadership to run tests, analyse results, and report on data findings.
Experience:
4. Minimum 8 years of construction Geological / Engineering experience including soil and groundwater sampling and contractor oversight during drilling activities.
5. Exposure working on a major civil infrastructure project of comparable size and complexity to the Snowy 2.0 project.
6. Extensive experience in the development and implementation of Geological management systems and plans.
7. Experience working within a Technical or Design department, assisting in Design, Planning and support the construction / production teams against required criteria
8. Experience in Geotechnical approvals process, ideally gained within civil construction and preferably in NSW
Required Competencies:
9. Familiar with lab methodologies and understand the importance of clean and orderly workspace by diligently following all lab procedures for health and safety
10. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
11. Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
12. Good interpersonal skills and communication
13. Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
14. Ability to work collaboratively
15. Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
21. The lab assistant will also be responsible for compiling data, transferring notes and recordings, and labelling, organizing, and maintaining samples
22. Take notes, record data, and results, and organize documentation
23. Transfer data and results from notes and records to computer formats
24. Organize and maintain lab storage, samples, and specimens
25. Follow all health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens
26. Identify and label samples
27. Prepare equipment and workspace
28. Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed
29. Compile research and information needed for study
30. Conduct laboratory tests, analyze, and categorize results
31. Record and document analysis results; report results and variations to supervisor
32. Comply with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies
33. Sanitize and sterilize equipment and workspace
34. Research industry trends and advancement
35. Assists all senior laboratory staff and leadership with additional duties as needed
