Your new role
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for the repair, maintenance, and reliability of a broad range of equipment. This includes light and heavy vehicles, as well as mobile and fixed plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will contribute to minimising downtime, ensuring safe operations, and supporting efficient production outcomes.Key responsibilities include:
* Performing repairs, servicing, and planned maintenance on heavy vehicles and plant equipment
* Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults
* Conducting inspections and component replacements to ensure safety and reliability
* Carrying out rebuilds and maintenance on pumps and associated equipment
* Working in accordance with maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety requirements
* Assisting with the development of work instructions, JSEAs, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Maintaining tools and equipment and reporting faults or hazards as required
* Collaborating with the wider maintenance team to support operational outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A recognised trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing light vehicles, heavy vehicles, and mobile or fixed plant
* Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding capabilities
* Solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
* The ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics
* A strong commitment to safety and compliance with high‑risk work standards
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
* Physical capability to perform manual work in an industrial environment
