Our client is a prominent ASX-listed financial services organisation, renowned for housing several well-known brands under its umbrella.This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality legal services across key functional areas of insurance operations, including product development, underwriting, claims management, complaints handling, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing timely, high-quality, and commercially focused legal and governance advice to business partners, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business partners to understand their strategic priorities and provide tailored legal support.
* Staying informed on legislative and regulatory changes impacting insurance operations, proactively advising on potential impacts to strategy and operations.
* Being part of a high-performance culture within the Legal and Company Secretariat team, promoting continuous improvement and collaboration.
* Demonstrate strong risk intelligence.
Key Requirements:
* Ideally a minimum of 3 years PQE in legal practice.
* Proficiency in legal drafting, advisory roles, and negotiation; strong understanding of insurance law and regulatory frameworks.
* Previous experience in insurance law, insurance litigation, property, liability or statutory insurance, regulatory compliance (including Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act, Insurance Contracts Act, and General Insurance Code of Practice), claims management, policy interpretation, complaints handling, and insurance risk management.
