The Opportunity
With strong growth in our service department, our Port Hedland branch has an exciting opportunity for a Trade Assistant to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role assisting Fitters providing service and planned maintenance support on a range of Hitachi Construction and Mining equipment.
Working Monday to Friday you will:
1. Forklift operation
2. Assist Tradesmen to repair earthmoving machines in line with procedures when required
3. Maintain a high level of accuracy when carrying out final QA inspections and pack units when ready for dispatch
4. Assist Service Supervisor with daily duties in the branch
5. Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
As a Trades Assistant, you will have a strong safety focus and abide by site safety processes at all times.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
6. Be mechanically minded with a willingness to learn
7. Have the ability to recognise basic product quality deviations/faults
8. Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
9. Forklift License will be advantageous
