Lead and manage the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, planning, developing and providing safe, high-quality, contemporary services at the primary facility. Ensure optimal patient outcomes through quality care.


About the Role

This is a senior leadership position in our obstetrics and gynaecology department. As head of the department, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality clinical services to patients. You will also have opportunities to develop and implement policies, procedures and guidelines that enhance the care provided by the department.

You will work closely with other senior leaders across the health district to ensure that we are delivering the best possible care to our patients. This will involve collaborating with clinicians, managers and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.

* Lead and manage the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department;
* Develop and implement policies, procedures and guidelines;
* Collaborate with other senior leaders across the health district;
* Oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical services to patients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways;
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience as a Senior Medical Officer Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the role delineation of the service;
* Demonstrated recent leadership and management experience with the ability to work with and develop a multidisciplinary clinical team;
* Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement;
* Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
