Job Responsibilities and Requirements
* Undertake general administrative duties, which may vary depending on the division. These duties will require high levels of professionalism, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
* Work as part of a team to implement program plans and responses to biosecurity risks, maintaining high standards of animal welfare and product integrity. Team members must be able to work collaboratively, share knowledge, and provide effective support.
* Provide interpretive and educational activities to enhance visitor experiences and increase student and community understanding of natural and cultural heritage. Interpreters will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to adapt to changing situations, and have a deep appreciation for the natural environment.
* Offer high-level administrative support, including executive environments supporting senior managers. Administrative assistants will need to have exceptional organizational skills, be able to prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
* Implement field centre operational plans, carry out works programs, and projects to achieve conservation and sustainable use of natural and cultural resources. Field staff will need to have hands-on experience, be physically fit, and have a strong commitment to environmental conservation.
* Assist with finance and accounting transactions, contributing to quality financial services, information, and advice. Financial assistants will need to have strong analytical skills, be able to manage complex data, and maintain accurate records.
* Participate in fire management tasks, including prescribed burning, clearing of vegetation, and maintenance of fire trails and waterholes. Firefighters will need to have extensive knowledge of bushfire management, be physically fit, and have a strong ability to work under pressure.
* Support horticultural maintenance and development activities within the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG). Horticultural specialists will need to have advanced knowledge of plant care, be able to identify and treat pests and diseases, and maintain a safe working environment.
* Maintain lawns and paths, and other associated work in the RTBG. Groundskeepers will need to have physical stamina, be able to lift heavy objects, and maintain a clean and tidy workspace.
* Host visitors to the Three Capes Track by providing information, interpretation, advice, and assistance. Visitor hosts will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to adapt to changing situations, and have a deep appreciation for the natural environment.
* Offer customer-focused IT support services and undertake other operational and infrastructure activities. IT specialists will need to have advanced knowledge of computer systems, be able to troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain accurate records.
* Provide a support and advisory service to clients on payroll activities. Payroll advisors will need to have extensive knowledge of payroll procedures, be able to manage complex data, and maintain accurate records.
