About the roleAroona Farms' is seeking an entry level, Technical Agronomy Field Officer to join our team in our Margooya, VIC location. In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with the Agronomist to oversee the daily operations and contribute to the long-term strategic direction of our farming business. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth day-to-day activities while helping shape the future growth and success of the operation.
About the Company
Aroona Farms is a combination of two almond orchards, with the Margooya Orchard located in the Victorian Sunraysia region near Robinvale, and Simarloo located in South Australia's Riverland near Renmark. Together our almonds orchards span more than 2,700 hectares with over 900,000 trees and currently produce over 9 thousand tonnes of almonds per year.
Aroona Farms is part of the AustOn Groups of companies. AustOn provides oversight of each farm business plan and brings cross-portfolio initiatives and sharing of best practice. Each farm business has day-to-day responsibility for management of the farms and implementation of the business plan.
About you
We're seeking a results-driven Technical Agronomy Officer with:
* Experience in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field
* A passion for safety, sustainability, and environmental stewardship
* The ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist the Agronomist with field inspections, crop monitoring, and basic data collection (e.g. pest and disease counts, trap checks, growth stage recording).
· Help prepare field trial plots, including labelling, pegging, or simple measurements.
· Take guided photos, notes, or samples (e.g. soil, tissue, nut sampling) for analysis.
· Enter simple data into spreadsheets or apps (training provided).
· Set up and retrieve weather sensors, data loggers, or sticky traps as directed.

Desirable (but not essential) qualifications:
* First aid certificate
* Qualifications in Agriculture or Horticulture
