The Opportunity:
We seek a Technical Writer to join a dynamic Bid Submissions Team within the Pre-Contracts hub. This pivotal role will create, shape, and drive compelling written content that underpins opportunities and bids, ensuring excellence and consistency across submissions.
As a Technical Writer, you will collaborate with Bid Managers, Opportunity Owners, and Subject Matter Experts to produce high-quality technical responses that align with business objectives, values, and client expectations. Your work will be central to winning business, particularly in responding to Defence clients, where clarity, compliance, and persuasiveness are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop high-quality, tailored written content for bids and proposals, based on SME input and business unit requirements.
* Translate bid solutions into compelling narratives that showcase features, benefits, added value, and social outcomes.
* Collaborate with team members to shape win themes, key messages, and case studies that strengthen submission impact.
* Attend and contribute to bid kick-off meetings, workshops, and regular progress reviews.
* Ensure compliance with all submission requirements, including formatting, structure, criteria, and timelines.
* Drive internal writing schedules to support on-time submission and final document production.
* Support post-submission activities to refine the content library.
*What We're Looking For:*
* Tertiary qualifications in business, project management, procurement, or equivalent experience.
* Professional accreditation (e.g. APMP) or bid-specific training (Shipley, Miller Heiman Strategic Selling) is highly valued.
* Defence bid/project experience (ASDEFCON, MSP IWPs, Defence work packages) is desirable.
* Proven experience collaborating with technical SMEs to produce customised content.
* Strong track record in advanced MS Word use. Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Acrobat, InDesign) is preferable.
* A team player who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders and Subject Matter experts
