Logistics Service Manager Job Description

This pivotal leadership role oversees daily logistics operations, drives process improvements, and ensures optimal service delivery across all transport activities.


Key Responsibilities:

* Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for transport coordination, customer service, and operational support.
* Oversee and continuously improve the planning, scheduling, and execution of freight movements to ensure on-time delivery and service excellence.
* Foster strong customer relationships by managing escalations, ensuring timely issue resolution, and upholding service standards aligned with company procedures.
* Monitor operational KPIs, ensure compliance with safety, quality, and service requirements, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with transport providers, internal departments, and yard operations to ensure seamless coordination and communication of inbound and outbound logistics.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline workflows, and identify opportunities for process and cost optimisation.
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation, including quotations, invoicing, POD requests, and NCR investigations.
* Provide accurate reporting and insights to senior leadership on operational performance, customer satisfaction, and team development.
