Your Role & Key Responsibilities
1. Support our care delivery team, ensuring patient safety and comfort in various settings, including the Emergency Department and wards. Enjoy the flexibility of a 24/7 rotating roster.

What You'll Be Doing
The Health and Security Assistant (HASA) role works as part of a team, in collaboration with other staff, to assist with managing patients and to provide a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors. HASA are also required to assist clinical staff in the care and comfort of patients, and securing the assets of South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).
Supporting the care delivery team is at the heart of the HASA role. You will provide support to the nursing team in Emergency Department in the delivery of patient care, under the guidance of nursing staff. You will also provide general assistance in the ward environment, cleaning, provide portering for patient transfers around the facility, and you will undertake security related duties as required by the nursing In-Charge and Security Manager. It is expected that HASA provide the highest possible standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.
The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation. This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

* Must hold a current Class 1A Security License with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A, Current First Aid Certificate and must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
* Ability to complete a quality incident report. Please provide examples of the types of incidents you have completed an incident report for.
* Give examples of your experiences with conflict resolution like verbal de-escalation and an example requiring you to apply physical restraint.
* Willingness to work in a morgue environment, take directions from supervisors, and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team with willingness to work in a 7-day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays, including morning, afternoon and night shifts
