MFT Energy is expanding its Australia Power Trading team with a talented software developer to collaborate with experienced traders in our office in Noosa. As part of this dynamic team, you will have access to collaborate with a global and diverse group of highly skilled traders, analysts, developers, and finance professionals.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain sophisticated applications using Python, React, and SQL. Your work will involve creating scalable, user-centric applications, allowing the traders to be at the forefront of the market. This position plays a crucial role in advancing MFT's mission to develop outstanding trading tools and establish us as leaders in trading technology.
The role is based in Noosa, Australia, and involves collaborating closely with colleagues in APAC and Europe to ensure smooth coordination on all software-related initiatives.
This is a high-impact role, placing you side-by-side with traders and analysts. Your work will shape the decision-making processes in energy markets through the application of data science and modern software engineering.
About You
Technical Skills
1. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field
2. 2+ years of software development experience
3. Proficient in Python and C# or similar
4. Proficiency in DevOps, including experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure
5. Familiarity with writing unit tests and using testing frameworks
6. Experience with Git and distributed systems
7. A good understanding of Agile methodologies
8. Strong skills in SQL for data storage and retrieval
* Experience in creating and managing APIs
