Overview
Digital Canberra delivers and supports digital government services that are easy to access, save time, and are safe to use. The Senior Network Engineer will provide design, direction, support and maintenance to ACT Government data networks across all Directorates and sites. This includes troubleshooting, rectifying faults, deploying new technology and connections, and guiding junior staff. Documentation and process review are also essential components of the role.
Responsibilities
The Senior Network Engineer will:
* Design and maintain the ACT Government data networks.
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
* Diagnose and resolve network faults and issues.
* Deploy new technology and network connections to meet enterprise demands.
* Review and update technical procedures, processes, knowledge base articles and configurations.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess:
* An Australian citizen.
* Or have the ability to acquire and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency security clearance at the Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) level.
* Experience in network engineering, including design, deployment and maintenance.
* Strong documentation and communication skills.
* Ability to lead and support junior resources.
Eligibility / Other Requirements
This is an ACT‐based position. Only applicants who are based in the ACT or willing to relocate will be considered. The role is a Senior Information Technology Officer Grade C position. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Current and former ADF members are encouraged to apply.
