Duration: Up until 30 June 2026 (with possibility of renewal)
Remuneration: Competitive remuneration based on Academic Level B or Academic Level C; $125K-$155K (based on experience) pro rata + 17% super + Annual Leave Loading

Those appointed to this specialism are expected to drive educational excellence within the university's teaching and learning communities. The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Rural ILP Coordinator, will deliver high-quality teaching and advance rural medical education, coordinate the Independent Learning Project (ILP) program, support rural research initiatives, and contribute to the academic education program at the campus. The role involves collaborating with the Local Health District and Primary and Rural Health Networks to progress research initiatives and ILP projects related to local health issues. The position reports to the Rural Clinical Director, ILP and Research Collaboration, with a dotted line to the Director of Medical Education at the campus and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching and advance rural medical education. Coordinate the ILP program, support rural research initiatives, and contribute to the campus education program. Collaborate with health networks and districts to progress research and ILP projects relevant to local health issues. Support the teaching and service missions of the Rural Clinical Campuses.
Qualifications and Skills
At Level B
* A BMed/MBBS or equivalent medical degree with relevant professional expertise and eligibility for medical registration in New South Wales, and/or a PhD in Biomedical Science or a related discipline.
* Evidence and maintenance of professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge and professional accreditation requirements.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching in biomedical sciences, clinical medicine and/or related health disciplines, including development, delivery and course convening at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* A strong commitment to rurally focused teaching and research to improve patient and local health care outcomes.
* A track record of successful interaction and involvement with relevant authorities, professional organisations, research and training institutes and health networks.
* Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
At Level C
* Demonstrated ability and commitment to deliver high quality and innovative teaching and research outcomes, and an exceptional student experience for rural students.
* Evidence of strong leadership skills and a record of solid achievement contributing to administration in academic and professional environments.
