Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with project goals and key milestones.
2. Lead proactive community and stakeholder engagement initiatives, including consultations and public outreach efforts.
3. Create engaging, clear, and targeted content for media releases, social media, newsletters, and project updates.
4. Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, and contractors to ensure timely and accurate communication.
5. Prepare high-level briefing materials, presentations, and speeches for senior leadership and stakeholders.
6. Monitor media coverage and community sentiment to inform messaging and mitigate reputational risks.
7. Oversee crisis and issues communications, ensuring responsive and professional resolution.
8. Provide expert advice to senior leadership on all aspects of communications and engagement.
9. Mentor junior communications staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
10. E nsure all communication activities comply with legal, ethical, and organisational requirements.
About You
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in communications and stakeholder engagement, preferably within the government sector.
* Strong strategic thinking, project management, and writing skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience working across diverse stakeholder groups.
* A proven ability to influence public perception and foster trust through effective engagement.
* Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-visibility environments with multiple priorities.
* IAP2 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (highly desirable).
* A Class C Driver's License (desirable).
* Familiarity with Infrastructure Sustainability Council frameworks (desirable).
