Aboriginal Enterprises Australia (AEA) specialise in providing construction and maintenance services to the commercial and residential market in remote areas of Western Australia and the Northern Territory. We are currently seeking a Finance Officer,to join our Katherine, NT office.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our Katherine, NT office. Reporting through to the Senior Finance Officer, this role is responsible for assisting the finance team with day-to-day operations and administration.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in managing payroll related functions across the Group, including travel allowances and reimbursements.
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* First point of contact for supplier queries, via both phone and email.
* Creditor data entry into financial management systems.
* Support housing and utilities contracts invoicing during peak times.
* Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
* General finance and administration support as needed.
* Ensure financial systems are accurate, efficient, and up to date.
* Support the continuous process improvements and efficiency of the Finance team.

What We Are Looking For

* Cert IV or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a finance related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping role, or a similar finance-related position.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting.
* Proficient in using financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite applications, with a strong focus on Excel.
* High level of accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities.
