The successful candidate will prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes, ensuring high quality, consistency, and presentation.
This role requires teamwork, attention to hygiene and food safety, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The annual salary for this position is $76,500-$78,000.
Duties include:
Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes (curries, tandoori, breads, rice dishes, etc.) according to restaurant standards and recipes.
Ensure the presentation, taste, and quality of dishes meet our high expectations.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Monitor ingredient stock and assist with basic inventory and ordering as needed.
Work together with the kitchen team, line staff, and front-of-house to ensure smooth service during busy times.
Be flexible to work shifts (lunch, dinner, weekends) as needed and support peak service periods.
May assist in developing or refining recipes and menu items under the guidance of the Head Chef.
Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labelling of ingredients to reduce waste and maintain freshness.
May train and mentor junior kitchen staff or new team members as needed.
Participate in kitchen meetings to discuss service improvements and workflow efficiency.
Follow all health, safety, and allergen protocols to protect staff and guests.
Contribute ideas for seasonal specials, promotional dishes, or themed menu events.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar setting.
Should hold a Certificate IV in Hospitality.
Should have Indian and Tandoori knowledge & experience.
