The Opportunity
We are on the lookout for an experienced Work, Health Safety and Environmental Advisor with a background in Construction to join our Safety Team. You would work on a Construction Project in NSW on a 3×1 roster. This role works closely with the Construction Manager, Supervisors, Contractors and site teams to ensure the project is delivered safely.
Responsibilities
* Coordination and delivery of WHS Training programs to the workforce including site inductions and training, including verification of competencies.
* Providing regular analysis and reporting of metrics to the business to communicate progress against HSET plans and key objectives.
* Lead incident investigations with site management to ensure root causes and corrective actions are identified, implemented and closed out within the agreed time frames.
* Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to monitor compliance, ensuring any non-conformances or improvement opportunities identified are reviewed and actions implemented.
* Review and strengthen SWMS and critical risk controls.
* Provide visible and proactive safety leadership on site.
* Maintain high quality safety reporting and documentation.
* Deliver toolbox talks, pre-starts and safety interactions.
About you
* Experience in mining, construction or project environment.
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or similar).
* Certificate IV TAE.
* Knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and safety systems.
* ICAM investigation training.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence positive safety behaviours.
* Construction White Card.
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Full and unrestricted Australian working rights.
* Ideally located in NSW as DIDO is an option.
