 
        
        Youth Justice Key Worker Team Leader - Youth Justice (NSW Department of Communities and Justice)
Role type: Temporary, Full time up to 30 June 2027. Clerk Grade 8/9, Salary ($121,845 - $133,105 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Location: Wagga Wagga (Cockatoo Initiative, Whole Of Government Initiatives Team, Youth Justice).

Your role
As a team leader, you will support and guide 3 x Key Workers alongside the Manager, Family Initiatives Team, prepare high level written documents including reports, manage administrative information and reporting, and undertake project work when needed. Leadership development opportunities will be provided. You will lead, support, and mentor a multidisciplinary team delivering early intervention to redirect young people from violent narratives. You will work holistically to empower communities and families and help create alternatives to violence.
What You'll Do
 * Oversee and support decision making and problem solving to achieve established outcomes.
 * Support, guide, mentor and lead other Youth Justice Key Workers.
 * Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation to ensure quality information and contribute to project outcomes.
 * Develop and maintain relationships with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders to provide front line services to young people.
 * Undertake case management activities, including caseload management, case planning, and delivering interventions that strengthen identity and positive narratives.
 * Ensure accurate record-keeping and data integrity to support planning, decision making and continuous improvement.
 * Coordinate with the Manager Family Initiatives Team, Cockatoo Initiative staff, Short Term Remand Coordinator, and other government and non-government stakeholders on service delivery and best practice standards.
 * Use structured screening and assessment tools to identify risks and needs and determine appropriate interventions, including family and crisis interventions.
 * Provide young people and families with tools, information, and support for positive change within the community.
 * Engage in therapeutic conversations and reflective practice/supervision to ensure quality control.
What We're Looking For
 * Relevant tertiary qualifications (diploma or higher) in social work, welfare, psychology, criminology, education or related field or equivalent experience.
 * Current NSW Working with Children Clearance
 * Current Driver's Licence
