Role Overview

This multi-skilled position is responsible for a range of key operational and administrative responsibilities at Council's venues including event and function support, building and equipment maintenance, technical support, as well as assisting with event planning and bookings. Overall, this position is pivotal in providing operational consistency across day-to-day operations and the effective delivery of events and activities in Council's venues.

* Competitive annual salary commencing at $82,559, plus up to 14% superannuation

Role Details

Role Overview: This multi-skilled position is responsible for a range of key operational and administrative responsibilities at Council's venues including event and function support, building and equipment maintenance, technical support, and assisting with event planning and bookings.

Essential Knowledge & Skills
* Experience in venue operations, events or hospitality
* Demonstrated experience in the operation of technical equipment including sound, lighting, audio visual, or staging
* Knowledge of building and equipment maintenance with demonstrated experience in facility operations and cleaning requirements
* Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong customer service focus with the ability to be flexible and problem-solve under pressure
* Ability to work within a small team and also autonomously to meet targets/goals
* Ability to operate within venue policies and Work Health and Safety obligations
* Digital literacy and ability to work with Microsoft Office, venue management software, bar management software and ticketing platforms
* First Aid Certificate
* Responsible Service of Alcohol
* Queensland Blue Card for working with children and young people
* Queensland C Class driver's licence (current and maintained)
* RIIWHS204D – Work safely at heights (or ability to obtain)
* RIIHAN301E – Operate elevating work platform (or ability to obtain)
Essential Requirements
* Provide high quality customer service to external and internal stakeholders
* Provide high quality support for day-to-day venue operations and events, ensuring small-scale events and venue requirements are well planned, communicated and carried out to a high standard
* Identify and facilitate venue and equipment maintenance in a timely manner; ensure venues are maintained and cleaned to a very high standard and are safe and fit-for-purpose
* Provide high quality support services for events, activities and functions, including pre-event liaison, venue tours, inductions and orientations, event planning, setup, basic technical support, bar operations, Front of House, ushering, troubleshooting, and post-event pack ups as required
* Carry out administrative tasks and maintain records related to events using Vend, Artifax, Microsoft Office, Ticketsearch and other systems
* Ensure production, catering and cleaning supplies are stocked and recorded
* Facilitate bar operations, order bar supplies, and maintain stock takes of alcohol
* Facilitate catering services for meetings and events and ensure invoices are paid promptly
* Act as Chief Fire Warden to ensure safe evacuation in emergencies
* Act as First Aid Officer when required
* Provide venue support and logistics for Evacuation Centre arrangements as required
* Other duties as required within the scope of the position
