GESHA Coffee Co. is a West Australian specialty coffee roasting company with a popular Breakfast and Lunch Flagship café located in Fremantle. We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Casual Chef de Partie to join our café kitchen team, working 4 days per week (30 - 36 hours), including 1 weekend shift. With breakfast and lunch service only, this position offers excellent lifestyle hours.
The successful applicant will support the Sous Chef and Head Chefs with the day-to-day running of kitchen operations and supervise kitchen hands. You must be experienced in a fast-paced environment, knowledgeable across all sections of the kitchen, and able to perform well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Ensure consistent quality and appealing presentation of all dishes leaving the kitchen.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain exceptional culinary standards.
Coordinate and organise kitchen workflow for optimal efficiency during service.
Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Manage kitchen inventory efficiently to minimise waste and control food costs.
Prioritise tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively to meet operational demands.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
2–4 years experience in commercial kitchens.
Strong understanding of kitchen operations.
High attention to detail.
Ability to handle high-pressure environments.
Solid understanding of cost control and inventory management.
Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not always required).
