Primary Location: VIC – Clayton. An exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer in Gas operations in Melbourne.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time. Location: Melbourne, VIC. Reporting Line: Project Manager.
About the Role
The Utilities division of Service Stream seeks a Project Engineer to manage small or subsets of larger projects through the life‐cycle, delivering and closing out projects safely and profitably as per Service Stream's project management systems. The role involves consulting and coordinating with key personnel to manage resources and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
* Estimating Projects: Build estimates in collaboration with key field personnel; populate client returnables as required; maintain estimating deadlines.
* Mobilising Projects: Conduct Tender Handover meetings (if the PM bidding job is not delivering the job); review contract documents; develop the Project Management Plan and control metrics for monitoring safety, time, cost and quality progress; establish the project team and organise their activities prior to commencement.
* Delivering Projects: Lead the project team ensuring cohesion and collaboration; deliver the project in a way that prevents harm; liaise with clients and provide reporting.
* Closeout of Projects: Achieve timely project completion; submit all required documents at completion such as as‐builts and manuals; obtain client acknowledgement of Practical Completion; return security at Practical Completion.
Qualifications
* Graduate level through to 5years' experience within the civil construction industry.
* Previous experience within the relevant and local utilities environment (advantageous).
* Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent (advantageous).
* Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
* Ability to lead and manage teams.
* Ability to deal diligently, patiently and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub‐contractors and suppliers.
* Self‐starter, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly.
* Analytical with ability to identify and suggest areas for process improvement and drive efficiency.
