About the Role
A working day will involve:
* Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
* Preparing resident's meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
* Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
* Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.
About You
You should ideally be an empathetic person who:
* Enjoys working with the elderly.
* Can work independently and as part of a team.
* Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
* Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
* Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.
You should possess the following:
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
* Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
* Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
* A high level of food safety knowledge.
* Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
