The Role:
Third Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Third Engineer to join our team on our cement carrier Goliath. As a key member of the engine department, you will be responsible for maintaining the Fuel and Lube Oil Purification system, boiler maintenance, feed water control, compressed air machinery, and domestic services.
This is a permanent full-time position based in the Bass Strait. Reporting to the First Engineer, you will work closely with the crew to ensure the safe operation of the main engine, boiler, and other critical systems on board.
You will perform day work in conjunction with a rotating 24-hour system of Gear Turn, including fuel and lube oil purifiers, air compressors, boiler, and boiler feed water control, as well as heat exchanges as directed.
Your responsibilities will also include any other duties as required by the ship's operational needs.
About You:
* Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 3 (required)
* Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable)
* Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)
* Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)
* Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)
* Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights
