Avant's Medico-legal Advisory Service (MLAS) provides expert advice to help minimise the chance of a complaint or claim occurring.
Due to the consistent growth Avant Mutual has experienced in recent years, we have expanded our MLAS team across Australia to ensure we can continue to provide excellent service to our members.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high quality, timely legal advice and support to Avant's members.
Provide first-class telephone and written medico-legal advice to members.
Support the Avant Law and claims teams and other staff on medico-legal and health law matters.
Give presentations to members and staff and write website content, articles and other member communications on relevant topics.
Qualifications:
Relevant tertiary legal qualifications.
Eligible to hold a practising certificate as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.
Demonstrated post-admission experience in health law is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to express ideas effectively.
High level of prioritisation, time management and self-management skills.
Good computer literacy and competency to work in an electronic document management environment.
