The role:
We are seeking a committed and professional Maintenance Team Member to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, this role provides safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance services across ACHGroup Residential facilities. This position plays an important role in ensuring a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for customers, families, employees, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Centric Service Delivery
* Deliver respectful, professional, and responsive service, aligned with ACHGroup's service behaviours.
* Communicate effectively with customers and their families.
* Perform general garden maintenance including cultivating, planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, watering, mowing, and fertilising.
* Plant and transplant flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns.
* Prune trees and hedges to support plant health, safety, and visual appeal.
* Remove garden waste and keep gardens, footpaths, and thoroughfares clean and clear.
* Maintain and safely operate hand tools, light machinery, and equipment, including mowers, strimmers, and blowers.
General Maintenance and Repairs
* Undertake a range of general maintenance tasks, including replacing light globes, unblocking drains, repairing fencing, and hanging artwork.
* Diagnose issues, identify solutions, and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
* Ensure tools, machinery, and equipment are cleaned, stored, and maintained appropriately.
Documentation & Reporting
* Complete all required organisational documentation and record-keeping.
* Report work progress, job status, and maintenance issues using ACHGroup communication systems.
* Contribute to compliance obligations and accreditation requirements.
* Follow all Health, Safety & Wellbeing policies and participate actively in organisational safety initiatives.
* Conduct risk assessments prior to commencing tasks, use appropriate PPE, and handle chemicals and equipment safely.
* Report incidents, hazards, and equipment malfunctions promptly.
* Maintain clean and organised storage and tool areas.
Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications and Registrations
* Current National Criminal History Record Check (within 12 months)
Essential Experience and Attributes
* Demonstrated gardening and maintenance experience
* Ability to work politely and respectfully with a wide range of people
* Physically fit and capable of performing all role functions
* Willing and able to work in various weather conditions (excluding extreme weather)
* Experience in fast-paced environments, meeting quality standards and deadlines
* Experience in gardening, maintenance, or similar roles within aged care or health settings

ACHGroup is a not-for-profit organisation in the Health Care Sector.
