Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Linux Kernel Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our kernel development team, you will be responsible for driving the architecture, implementation, and ongoing delivery of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
You will work closely with our management team and other senior technical leadership to track and coordinate initiatives to delivery. Your expertise in operating system kernels and distributions will enable us to deliver a high-quality product that meets the needs of our customers.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of junior and mid-career engineers and collaborate daily with other senior technical leadership on how best to ensure Ubuntu stays at the pinnacle of Linux distributions.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive the architecture, implementation, and ongoing delivery of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
* Work closely with management and other senior technical leadership to track and coordinate initiatives to delivery.
* Lead a team of junior and mid-career engineers.
* Collaborate daily with other senior technical leadership on how best to ensure Ubuntu stays at the pinnacle of Linux distributions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Strong technical skills in operating system kernels and distributions.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of engineers.
Proven experience working in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality products.
