The Toybox Community Childcare Centre is seeking a Part Time, Diploma Qualified Assistant Director to work onsite at our 80-place not-for profit community based long day care centre, based in Port Lincoln.
The Assistant Director will support the Centre Director in the effective day-to-day management of the service, ensuring a high-quality of education and care, regulatory compliance and a positive workplace culture.
Your key duties:
* Supporting the Director to fulfill the operational needs of the centre.
* When required, completing rosters and effectively managing staffing arrangements, and act as the Responsible Person.
* Reflecting on your performance and participating in probationary processes, including setting SMART goals/strategies and engaging in Appraisals.
* Support compliance with the National Quality Framework, regulations and service policies.
* Working with the whole centre team to maintain the Quality Improvement Framework.
* Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader to support high-quality pedagogy.
* Model best practice in child-centred, inclusive and reflective teaching.
* To lead and be part of the centre's critically reflective processes.
* Developing relationships with families and regularly communicating with them.
* Working with Allied Health and other professionals to support children, educators and families.
Essential Criteria
* Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
* Current and valid Working With Children Check.
* Current First Aid Certificate including CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management.
* Current Child Safe Environments.
* Experience working with children from 3 months to 6 years old.
* A thorough understanding of the EYLF and the NQS.
* An ability to critically reflect on work place practices and a thorough knowledge and understanding of learning theory and development.
* Strong knowledge of individual learning styles, particularly where there may be complex needs and/or a range of abilities and cultural backgrounds.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to coach, mentor and inspire the educator team.
* Ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues and families.
* Strong written and verbal language skills are essential.
* Excellent organisational skills and time management.
* Be punctual, reliable, flexible, professional and have a strong work ethic.
