The Opportunity
We are seeking a Sales and Design Consultant to join our Northam-based team. Ideally, the successful candidate will bring relevant experience in consultative sales roles, preferably within residential housing, property, or construction-related industries. However, we are also open to appointing a Trainee Sales and Design Consultant where strong potential, capability, and alignment with the role are demonstrated.
The Role
The Sales and Design Consultant is responsible for driving sales outcomes by managing the customer journey end-to-end – from first enquiry through to signed contract and handover into delivery.
This is a consultative, relationship-driven role that combines sales performance with design and guidance and customer experience. The role requires strong follow-up discipline, confidence in presenting home designs and options, and the ability to guide clients through decision-making with clarity.
You will work closely with the Sales Team Leader and internal teams across design, estimating, and delivery to ensure a smooth transition from sales to construction.
Scope of Work
Depending on experience, you will be involved in a range of sales and customer engagement activities, including:
* Educating potential buyers on floor plans, home features, and the modular construction process.
* Conducting model home tours and assisting buyers with the selection of designs, finishes, and upgrades.
* Generating and qualifying leads, following up with prospects, and maintaining a strong client database.
* Providing exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns throughout the buying process.
* Staying informed on market trends, pricing, and competitor offerings.
* Updating key sales data, including contracts and PPAs, weekly.
What we are looking for:
* 1 -2 years' experience in consultative sales preferably within residential housing, property, or construction-related industries.
* An eye for design and detail, with the ability to balance creativity, practicality, and budget considerations.
* Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings; experience with CAD or design software is an advantage but not essential.
* Confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office, with the ability to juggle multiple clients.
* Sound commercial awareness, including understanding pricing, margins, and customer value.
* Friendly, professional communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, ask the right questions, and explain information clearly.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, design, and delivery teams.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong accountability.
* Have professional judgement and discretion when managing client information and commercial data.

* A genuine willingness to learn, take feedback, and build capability over time.
* Interest in residential construction, home design, or sales, even if direct experience is limited.
* Openness to structured training, shadowing, and progressive responsibility.
* Motivation to develop into a confident Sales & Design Consultant through firsthand experience and support.
