The Role
The Corporate Affairs Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting government relations, stakeholder engagement, and corporate affairs initiatives for the Managing Director and Executive Team. You will work closely with the Divisional Manager Strategic Communications to prepare briefings, presentations, and thought leadership content while ensuring engagement activities are strategically aligned and organisational priorities are advanced.
You will provide expert advice, manage high-profile interactions, and collaborate across the business to ensure communications and engagement are clear, consistent, and effective.

Your key responsibilities
* Draft and coordinate responses to ministerial and corporate enquiries
* Prepare speaking materials, presentations, and briefing packs for MD and Executive engagements
* Develop thought leadership content for social and external platforms
* Support the MD and Executive to maintain strong government and stakeholder relationships
* Maintain accurate governance, reporting, and audit records
* Map and manage stakeholder relationships across government, industry, community, and partner organisations
* Plan and support stakeholder meetings, events, and site visits
* Monitor government priorities, policies, and parliamentary activity for opportunities or impacts
* Advise Executive on engagement approaches, risk management, and communication strategies
* Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration
What we’re looking for
* Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Media, or related field
* Graduate Diploma or equivalent postgraduate qualification or experience is highly desirable
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar strategic communications, corporate affairs, or government relations role
* Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills with a track record of producing high-quality materials
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
* Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and appropriately across multiple audiences
* Strategic thinker with excellent initiative, judgement, and problem-solving skills
* Experience in managing reputational risk and delivering high-quality communications under tight deadlines
* Proficient understanding of traditional and digital media channels
