About the Role
We are seeking a capable and detail-focused Systems Administrator (HRIS / Payroll Systems) to support the ongoing administration, training, and user support of our HR and payroll system (Tanda).
This role ensures the system is used effectively across the business through accurate data management, user support, training, reporting, and ongoing system maintenance.
You will act as the key internal contact for the HRIS, supporting managers and HR users to ensure consistent and confident use of the system.
This is a hands-on operational systems role focused on support, training, data accuracy, and system reliability.
This role is based in Cairns and is intended for candidates who already reside locally.
Key Responsibilities
HRIS Administration (Tanda)
* Maintain employee, position, location, team, and qualification data
* Maintain system templates including contracts and onboarding workflows
* Ensure ongoing accuracy and integrity of HRIS data
* Perform routine system maintenance to support system stability
User Support & System Updates
* Provide first-line support to system users across the business
* Troubleshoot issues and resolve or escalate to Tanda support where required
* Liaise directly with Tanda support for technical queries
* Monitor system updates and implement required changes
* Communicate system changes clearly to users
Training & Capability Building
Deliver regular training sessions for operational and rostering managers
* Provide onboarding support for new managers using Tanda
* Support managers to quickly build confidence in system use
* Develop and maintain user guides, FAQs, and quick reference materials
* Promote consistent and effective system use across teams
Reporting
* Produce standard and ad hoc reports from Tanda
* Support HR and managers with workforce data and reporting needs
* Ensure reporting accuracy and reliability
HRIS Checks & Data Quality
* Assist with scheduled HRIS audits (twice yearly or as required)
* Identify and report data inconsistencies or errors
* Support correction of system data issues
* Maintain accurate workforce data across the system
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
* Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
* Maintain FAQs and system support materials
* Identify opportunities to improve system usage and efficiency
About You
We are not expecting prior experience with Tanda — what matters most is your ability to confidently work with systems and learn quickly.
This role would suit a recent university graduate looking to start a career in HR or HR systems, or an experienced administrator seeking a flexible part-time role (including school-hour flexibility).
You will likely succeed in this role if you have:
* Experience in an administrative, HR, payroll, rostering, or systems support role
* Confidence working with digital systems or workforce management platforms
* Strong attention to detail and high data accuracy
* Ability to learn new systems quickly
* Strong communication skills and ability to support non-technical users
* Good organisation and time management skills
Experience with HRIS or rostering systems (e.g. Tanda, Deputy, Employment Hero, Kronos) is highly regarded but not essential.
