Manning Support Services (MSS) is an award-winning community service organisation that has been operating on the NSW Mid North Coast for more than 40 years. MSS has a 12 month fixed term permanent part-time position available for a Customer Service Officer providing administration assistance to our Connected Families team for 22 hours per week.
The Customer Service Officer (CSO) is the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and stakeholders, delivering a welcoming, professional, and responsive front-of-house experience. The role is responsible for managing telephone and in-person enquiries, directing visitors appropriately, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
The CSO also provides support to our Supervised Contact Services team. This includes accurate data entry, scheduling of contact shifts, maintaining strict confidentiality, and assisting with the coordination and documentation of supervised contact sessions.
The CSO works collaboratively to ensure timely communication, support efficient record-keeping, and provide financial information with a focus on accuracy and accountability. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate, client-focused approach in a dynamic and sensitive service environment.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Certificate III Business Administration, or Certificate III Community Services or similar equivalent qualification
* Minimum 2 years' experience (or equivalent skills) in a similar role
* A passion for working with families
* Knowledge of child protection practices and mandatory reporting guidelines
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates
* Current Class C or above NSW Driver's Licence
* Current Employee Working with Children Check
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* Working knowledge of workforce management principles, WHS, SCHADS Award and roster optimisation
* Demonstrated ability to use databases and the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Outlook, Word and Excel

* Highly professional and able to act in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner, with a strong desire to provide high-quality client service
* A thorough understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles
* Able to work effectively both collaboratively and autonomously
* Experienced in managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes within agreed timeframes and quality standards
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think laterally and use initiative
