Role Description
This is a full-time, decentralised Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineer role based in the Greater Sydney Area.
While occasional site visits may be required, the position is structured for remote work, so candidates must be able to work efficiently and independently from a home environment.
The Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineer will be required to complete the following tasks:
- Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies
- Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings suitable for fabrication and installation
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs and ensure structural integrity
- Prepare and compile engineering documentation for certification and compliance with relevant standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, project managers, and drafters
- Conduct site assessments or field measurements to inform design work
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications
- Revise designs based on feedback, test results, and field data
- Maintain accurate documentation and version control throughout the design process

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent)
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience in mechanical or mechatronic design roles
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks
- Proven drafting experience creating manufacturing-ready models and drawings
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and mechanical systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage tasks independently in a remote setting
