Position Information
Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co‐educational secondary school located in south‐western Sydney and part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school hosts an Intensive English Centre and an Inclusive Support Class. As of the most recent enrolment, CHHS has 1,046 students (872 mainstream, 174 intensive English). The student body is culturally diverse, with 80% of students having a language background other than English, and a growing number of students from Aboriginal and refugee communities.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach careers or currently undertaking the Careers Adviser qualifications approved by the New South Wales Department of Education.
* Ability to provide tailored career advice that aligns with students' strengths and aspirations, including guidance on university, TAFE, apprenticeships/traineeships, and workforce pathways.
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, parents, employers, external agencies, and training providers.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and implement careers programmes and initiatives that support student engagement, pathway development, and post‐school readiness.
Conditions
Applicants must hold an unconditional full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education. If not presently holding full approval, you must commence the application process concurrently with your application for this role.

Until a determination is confirmed, the salary offer will remain at Step 1 and will be updated later. For details, consult the Department's policy.
