We are seeking a Funeral Director / Arranger to join our hard-working team. This is an ideal opportunity for professionals from paramedicine, nursing, healthcare, or high‑level administrative backgrounds who are looking to transition into a meaningful, people‑focused career.
The Role
This is a varied, hands‑on role that combines direct family support, coordination, and detailed administration. You will work closely with families to arrange funeral services, manage logistics, and ensure everything runs smoothly during a sensitive and important time.
Professionals with experience in clinical environments often excel in this role due to their ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate with empathy, and manage complex processes with accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
* Meet with families to guide and support them through funeral arrangements
* Explain service options, legal requirements, and documentation clearly and compassionately
* Coordinate logistics with cemeteries, crematoriums, celebrants, clergy, florists, and transport providers
* Manage scheduling, records, and statutory paperwork with a high level of accuracy
* Provide on‑the‑day support before, during, and after services
* Assist with practical duties as required (including vehicle preparation and presentation)
* Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team where flexibility is essential
About You
You may come from paramedicine, nursing, allied health, healthcare administration, emergency services, or another high‑responsibility care role.
You will bring:
* A calm, compassionate, and professional manner
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* The ability to work effectively in emotionally sensitive and time‑critical situations
* High attention to detail and strong administrative capability
* Confidence using computer systems and managing documentation
* A willingness to be hands‑on and support the team where needed
* A current driver's licence
