About the role
Red Cross Emergency Services aims to assist individuals and communities before, during and after an emergency or event, to cope with and manage the psychosocial impacts of emergencies.
The Resilience Officer is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of targeted initiatives aimed at enhancing the resilience of individuals, households, and communities. The role involves assisting in the implementation of evidence-based resources, training, and community activities to build capacity to anticipate, respond to, and recover from disasters and crises. The Resilience Officer will also support efforts to increase sector knowledge and understanding of disaster impacts, preparedness, and the psychosocial needs of affected populations.
You will bring
* Sound knowledge and understanding of disaster resilience and community development principles
* Experience in supporting the development and delivery of training, workshops and resources
* Experience in advocacy and influencing sector practices
* Advocacy and communication skills, with the ability to support stakeholder engagement
* Analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to assist in using data to inform practice
* Relevant four-year degree in emergency management, community development, social sciences with one year relevant experience or three year degree with two years of relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $70,472.06 (this salary is pro rata for 0.8 FTE).
