A major Australian retailer is seeking a Senior Security Specialist to drive secure‐by‐design practices across cloud, data centre, applications and - most critically - AI, ML and GenAI platforms. This role partners closely with Technology Services, Engineering and Product teams to uplift cyber controls and embed modern security requirements into high‐visibility initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
* Embed AI, GenAI, ML and Agentic AI security risk management into all solution designs, ensuring alignment to secure‐by‐design principles.
* Ensure all AI technologies comply with government standards and industry frameworks, including OWASP Top 10 for ML, LLM and Agentic AI.
* Act as the primary security adviser for technology teams, ensuring solutions align to cyber policies, standards and reference architectures.
* Embed security into cloud, on‐prem and application design, ensuring strong technical guardrails throughout the lifecycle.
* Support secure delivery of mobile app, data and intelligence initiatives, ensuring privacy and customer‐safe outcomes.
* Identify and report inherent and residual risks, vulnerabilities and compliance gaps to senior stakeholders.
Experience & Skills Required
* Deep, detailed understanding of OWASP for AI (ML, GenAI, Agentic) and proven experience applying these controls in enterprise environments.
* 10+ years Information Security experience across ISO, Essential 8, NIST (PCI DSS highly desirable).
* Strong capability embedding secure‐by‐design across cloud, data centre and application environments.
* Experience assessing AI‐related security threats, controls and emerging best practices.
* Proven ability to influence engineering teams and govern secure architecture and design processes.
* Strong stakeholder communication, risk reporting and governance skills.
