About Us
Watershed Farm & Bowness Stud is a well established mixed farming operation located among the rolling hills near Young, in regional New South Wales, Australia. Alongside our thoroughbred breeding program, we run a commercial cattle herd and broadacre cropping enterprise. The Role
We are seeking an experienced and capable Farm Hand to join our team in Australia. This is a practical, hands on position suited to someone with a good mix of livestock and machinery skills who enjoys the variety of broadacre farming. The work covers day to day duties across the cattle, feeding, and cropping sides of the business, working closely with the owners and other staff.
Key responsibilities include:
• Cattle work including mustering, drafting, yard work, feeding stock, and general animal husbandry
• Operating tractors and farm machinery for sowing, spraying, and harvesting
• General property work including fencing, water systems, and pasture management
• Machinery upkeep, servicing, and workshop jobs as required
• Contributing to cropping programs and seasonal workloads across the farm
• Supporting a safe, organised, and team-focused working environment
About You
You will be someone who takes pride in your work and enjoys the variety that comes with mixed farming. A solid background in stock work and machinery operation, along with a genuine interest in rural life, is essential.
We're looking for someone who has:
• Proven stock handling experience and confidence working cattle in yards and paddocks
• Practical ability operating tractors, loaders, and general farm equipment
• Good understanding of fencing, water systems, and day to day maintenance
• Physically fit, reliable, and happy working outdoors in all conditions
• A positive, team minded attitude and good communication skills
• A current driver's licence (truck or machinery endorsements an advantage but not essential)
