About the Role
A Specialist in the Procurement Site Engineering Projects team, providing functional support to WAIO Site Engineering and the successful delivery of their projects. You will collaborate to plan, implement and manage the procurement of contracts according to the approved strategy, with a commitment to health, safety, social value, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Key Accountabilities
* Develop execution strategies, undertake sourcing, execute new contracts and manage contract variations compliant with the BHP Charter, Code of Conduct, Global Standards, Functional Level Requirements.
* Ensure appropriate allocation of risks through selection of the most effective commercial pricing models.
* Draft high quality tender and contract documents to minimise ambiguity and reduce opportunities for claims.
* Influence the selection of procurement strategies such as fixed lump sum, cost reimbursable, target cost.
* Provide contract management support to project teams throughout the contract life‐cycle.
* Perform contractor and contract performance monitoring and reporting, including KPI reporting, spend analytics, contract variations and claims management.
* Maintain relationships with stakeholders, lead negotiations with vendors and provide ongoing contract management up to and including close‐out.
* Ensure consistency and high performance against project and commercial Procurement KPIs.
* Pursue operational and commercial excellence through continuous improvement.
* Apply sound commercial judgement around contractual terms and conditions to ensure contractor performance.
* Support direct tendering, negotiation and implementation of complex and high value contracts to reduce the total cost to the business.
About You
Ideally, you will have experience of procurement in construction projects and working with project teams, hold a tertiary qualification (Quantity Surveying, procurement, engineering, business, law preferred) or similar, with experience in the mining and mineral resources industry. Alternatively, 8‐10 years of experience on the contractor side with a demonstrated understanding of project delivery.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, high standard of oral and written communication, and the following:

* Advanced communication skills enabling influence across a diverse stakeholder group.
* Ability to support Procurement Leaders and Project Teams to deliver upon department and project KPIs.
* Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Ideally qualifying in Quantity Surveying.
* Experience of rail projects beneficial.
