The Role

As Principal Advisor, you will lead and provide expert advice on Corridor Management activities for Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in the Northern District. This includes managing development impacts, third-party works, event permits, and activities within State-controlled transport corridors, while contributing to statutory planning documents, native title assessments, and property enquiries.

Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include

* Lead the Corridor Management team in assessing development impacts, land management, utilities, and third-party access, ensuring alignment with transport objectives.
* Provide expert advice on State and local planning documents, including Planning Schemes, Regional Plans, and transport initiatives.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local governments, statutory authorities, and stakeholders to influence planning outcomes.
* Negotiate and manage impacts of land use planning submissions, development applications, and third-party activities on transport corridors.
* Ensure compliance with standards, policies, and legislation, and prepare complex Ministerial correspondence and briefing notes.

Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions

* A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence
* Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will be required to be completed.
* Must be eligible to work in Australia.

Desirable Qualifications And Conditions

* A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Town Planning, Law, or equivalent qualifications relevant to the infrastructure industry.
