About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experiencedWHS Advisor to be part of a team, which plays a critical role in supporting workforce capability and wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to lead WHS initiatives, influence a positive safety culture, and ensure compliance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct and review WHS risk assessments and maintain compliance with legislation and policies
* Maintain WHS risk registers, hazard logs, and coordinate audits and inspections
* Lead investigations into WHS incidents and near misses
* Draft and update WHS policies, procedures, and guidelines
* Deliver WHS inductions and training sessions
* Provide expert advice to managers and staff on WHS matters
* Analyse WHS data, prepare reports, and monitor key metrics
* Support WHS-related projects including mental health initiatives and ergonomic assessments
What We're Looking For
* Strong knowledge of the WHS Act 2011 and associated codes of practice
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to coordinate and facilitate projects and initiatives
Ideal Candidate
This role would also suit an APS5 looking to step up into APS6, provided you have acting APS6 experience and demonstrated capability in WHS advisory functions.
Eligibility
* Must hold a minimum Baseline Security Clearance
* Section 26 transfer opportunity for current APS employees
