We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Welfare Science who will contribute to the school's strong research themes and work with existing colleagues in the school supporting teaching and research in veterinary medicine and animal welfare and lead development of continuing education through the Centre for Veterinary Education. The successful applicant will provide leadership, coordination, delivery, and assessment in these disciplines across teaching, research, and governance leadership and engagement.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
- contribute to the education, research, and administrative activities
- provide outstanding teaching and learning outcomes for veterinary science students
- coordinate and develop curricula and programs within the School as part of continuous DVM curriculum development
- develop, coordinate, and engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education
- lead the advancement of high-quality continuing education for the veterinary profession of international standards
- enhance the positive workplace culture and strategic direction of the University
- maintain a reputation for academic excellence
- contribute to advancing knowledge within your chosen areas of veterinary medicine and animal welfare
- maintain a research profile that meets University expectations and standards, including success in competitive research grants and other research income generation, publications in peer-reviewed international journals.

About you

- Veterinary Science degree registered to practice in New South Wales
- a PhD in a relevant discipline
- high level of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Welfare Science skills and capacity to communicate and instruct practical classes as well as perform didactic teaching activities
- a demonstrated established track record of publications and other research outputs
- experience in teaching and learning, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings
- demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
- experience in developing a network of relationships with key academic, industry, and professional institutions, partners, and stakeholders
- a demonstrated ability to attract research funding
- experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
- a demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively across a range of media and forums
- excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- an understanding of the key strategic issues in the discipline and higher education sector.
